How To Upload A File Via FTP

Uploading a file to us requires a basic understanding of file transfer. You will need the following items:

  1. A compression / encoding program such as WinZip (for PC's) or StuffIt Deluxe (Macintosh) (Note: It is not necessary to compress pdf files. Pdf files can be put directly onto the ftp site without using a compression program.)
  2. An FTP program such as WS_FTP (for PC's) or Transmit (Macintosh)
  3. A folder created for you on our FTP site

Your customer service representative can assist you in getting your directory set up. This is a simple process which only takes a few minutes. This is a required step before you can upload your files.

Preparation

To prepare your files for transfer, you need to gather all of the layouts, artwork, pictures, fonts and any other files associated with your project. A good tool to assist with this process is FlightCheck from Markzware (both PC and Mac). Once you have all of these items collected, use your compression / encoding program to make a single package file for uploading.

Uploading

Now that you have your single package file ready, start your FTP program and use the settings we provided you with. Once your files are uploaded, please let your customer service representative know they are there. They will assist you with the rest of the production process.
